Grad Who Has Designed for Solange Knowles Featured in NYT
FIDM Graduate James Flemons, founder of the unisex line Phlemuns, is featured in the New York Times Fashion & Style section.
James gained notoriety after creating the two-piece outfits seen in Solange Knowles' "Don't Touch My Hair" video. His latest project is a denim capsule collection featuring skirts, vests, and jeans that are patched together from jeans souped at Goodwill. “I would just buy denim and cut it up and try and alter it,” he told the Times. “This is my way to give back to the Earth a little bit, my recycling these things.”
